I had to go back to the most natural form of running like how it use to be in the 70's for me. No more high cushioned shoes with powerstep inserts, no more overextending, better cadence (180 steps per minute) and NO MORE INJURIES! No gradual buildup to zero drop shoes (Altra One 2.5), just went cold turkey which was painful that first week, especially the calves. But I will never go back to overly cushioned trainers again. I'm already back to my original weekly mileage but the workouts are faster and I feel fresher for the next day's run.
