Hi,
Wonder if anyone can offer any help/advice before I retire from running?
I have ankle pain, specifically on the front of my ankle whenever I try to run, I can run for about 5 miles once a week but anymore & the joint aches too much to the point where I have to wait a couple of weeks before its feels better (have tried running through it to no avail). Kneeling whilst sitting on my heels irritates it in particular.
I’ve had it x-rayed twice, MRI’d, tried physio (general ankle strengthening & specific dorsiflexion exercises) & also had cortisone injection which did nothing.
Been like this for a couple of years, can do most other sports (cycling, swimming etc) & have tried complete rest for a couple of months.
Any ideas? Last resort is trying an aircast boot, could this work? I thought it was a stress fracture somewhere in my lower leg or ankle/foot, but nothing on the MRI & I’ve been assured it wouldn’t have been missed (MRI was on my ankle & foot).
Thanks
