Long story short had upper left hamstring (lower glute)pain for the last year. I haven't done any substantial running other than a dabble of a 3-5 miles here and there (as in 0-12mi max a week) for over a year. Any running basically irritates it and then I have a hard sleeping as when I lay down it aches pretty good.
Have had hammy injuries in the past and less mileage/a few weeks off and I've been good.
Chiro I see who the running community here loves thinks I've irritated my sciatic nerve and I tend to agree. But his prescription to get better is basically doing what I've been doing: not irritating it. I just brisk walk mostly 60-90 min a day which doesn't seem to bother it.
He tested me and said my left side wasn't firing as I couldn't resist pressure like my right side could. He used some red laser and said now my muscles were firing.
I'm thinking I should go see a real doc like a neurosurgeon as I don't see anything changing going to the chiro.
Anyone seen a neurosurgeon for this type of thing?
Thanks for any feedback.
