I'm in my 70's and curious about your training.
What all does your 70 miles of walking each week consist of?
What does the 5 miles of running each week consist of? Do you run 4x400 each week or quite often?

----Thanks for the interest . I believe that doing 400s on a treadmill is a great way to redevelop regain leg speed just gotta be careful;)
What all does your 70 miles of walking each week consist of?
----Hills lots and lots of hills up and down if possible cause the downhills build eccentric strength which is what we lose more of as we age. I usually do 2 walks a day 2 hours in the morning and an hour later or a bike ride.

----no not too many 400s a few on the treadmill today I did:
2 x 400 at 6:20 pace 9mph
2 x 400 at 6 flat pace 10mph
1 x 1600 at 6 flat pace 10mph
1 x 400 at 5 flat pacde 12mph felt good!
2.25 miles on the treadmill with Recovery by feel
Last week I did usually only 2 runs a week but did 3 last week just how it worked out
4 x 600 meter 5 percent uphill 3:09,2:4x for the other 3 kicked my butt
2800 meter uphill at close to all out. The hill steepness varied between 10 and 5 percent 12:45
4 x 600 meter 5 percent uphill 3:09,2:4x for the other 3 kicked my butt

Let me state this one more time this is not really fast compared to the top 60 year olds if only I had a brain er I mean if only I could train
I could while away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers,
Consulting with the rain;
And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my running is busy hatchin'
If I only I could train.
I'd unravel ev'ry riddle for my
Individdle
In trouble or in pain
With the runs that I'd be doing
I could be another Whitlock
If you only I could train.
Oh, I, could tell you why
The oceans near the shore
I could do workout after workout that I'd never
Thunk before,
And then I'd rest up and run some more.
I would not be just a muffin',
My head all full of stuffin',
My heart all full of pain;
And perhaps I'd deserve you and be
Even worthy even you
If I only could train more.
When I turned 55 and realized banging a 35 is still young enough, and I no longer have age limits between 18 and 28.

Thank you very much for the feedback.
I'm impressed with your routine, and am trying to do something similar (but smaller scale).
