You ran similar times, but judging from your 90-100mpw log with sub 30min 10k same week as 90 miles, and what Smoove has said in the past about his younger running (50-60mpw?)... I think you guys got to those times in very different ways.
I think sometimes you need to be careful when taking a whole group of people's work and trying to apply it to one person. For example in this case (just a theory): It could be that they take a whole huge group of speedy runners, train at high altitude, and just flog the crap out of the volume and workouts. Most of them don't survive it (injury, burnout), but a few really special ones do and come out the other side with incredible ability. If you tried to apply the same method to yourself, instead of getting a sampling of some of both results it'd be a lot more binary: you'd be awesome or you'd be out of the sport.
Back to Jeremy's marathon:
If you've got 4 weeks, I guess you've got 1-2 weeks to run as much as you can and then it's time to start to taper. The only "workout" or "indicator" I would do is practice some running in the 6:45-6:50 range. I might even emphasize doing that in the first part of runs or when feeling fresh instead of at the end. I'm guessing that feels easy for you, but if you're only goal really is to qualify for boston and you don't have a strong aerobic background, then my greatest concern for you would be going out too fast and falling apart. Speedy guy stretching the distance needs to keep things under control early.
