In the last six months or so, I have gotten myself into decent shape and am placing top 5 in some local road races. I like offer congratulations and chat a bit with the people that finish around me and generally build some camaraderie with other fellow runners that like to compete for the win. I'm just having a good time out there and trying to be friendly.
Well, the other local fast guys seem like a bit of an elite club that doesn't even say good job to the other top finishers they don't know. No handshakes, no congrats, no chat about the race or running, no runner's wave on the cool down, just generally keep things within their elite known runners club. Honestly, they kinda strike me as a bunch of jerks. Who do these guys think they are?
Anyways, anybody else notice a similar attitude among the top runners in their local area?
