It was Moen that was doing the 5k race, not Filip.
Jacob has done far better aerobic workouts and tests this year. He will be strong enough to break 13.20 this year most likely. Highly doubt he will though as thats no priority for them. He will probably run the 5000 at the European Championship, most likely wont be a fast race.
Where are his two older brothers? Injured?
As far as I know, both F and H have recovered from their injuries and are training.
Filip was also in the race. Why comment if you've obviously not even watched it?

Yes, it makes you wonder what this 17 y.o. would need to run to impress people on LR.
7:56.7 is his in/out best by 3.3 seconds.
He would be a junior in HS in the US.
I just noticed that his 7:56 is a junior European indoor record.

Funnily enough, Brit Jake Heyward (who beat Jakob in the Euro u20 1500m) ran 8:01 later that same day, which would have been the European u20 record, but it was a new British u20 record, beating the previous best set 50 years ago by Ian Stewart.
But yeah, Jakob breaks the European u20 record by over 5 seconds at age 17 and LetsRun hobby joggers are not impressed with his performance.

Hobby jogger might not be adequately descriptive, as most don't even run anymore, let alone race. I'd venture to guess that there are a large percentage of doughy, soft, and unfit loudmouths here.
His interview after race in Belgium against Lewandowski is available. Sounds mature and well spoken. Will be interesting to see how he fares outdoors as indoors is just for fun between training blocks according to him.
Jakob finished 6th in 3:40.
Sorry, in 7th. Souleiman first in 3:35.39

He got a new indoor PB, but missed his in/out PB by 0.4, the European junior indoor record by 0.5 and the WC standard by 0.8.
He must be somewhat disappointed
Ok, where is he racing next?
Is he now packing it in for the season?

The World indoor standards seem very strict - 3:39.5 isn't it? According to the IAAF toplists, only 11 athletes achieved that in last year's indoor season. Do they even run heats or semis in the World Championships?
Competing in the World Indoors would be a good experience for him, but he looks well on course to be running sub 3:35 this summer, which would be pretty amazing for a 17 year old.

Yes, he only needs to get down to a 3:38.2 and 3:53.4 to be faster than Webb was in his first junior year. However, Alan had the lucky January birth date. Jakob is certainly much faster than Webb was at 3000m at the same age.
