Don't run in a gym or on a treadmill, I like to be outdoors but because of circumstances it's not very idealistic for me to run on grass or dirt trails because there really isn't any to run on around here that I know of.
Will be training not just distance but also will have more intense shorter distance days
So since I'm going to be running on concrete most of the time, I really want a shoe that isn't going to destroy my ankles, shins, and knees..
I have a pair of asics kayanos because of the praise about them but I wasn't really that impressed, when I press on the bottom of the sole there really doesn't seem to be that much give even with the gel.. seems very stiff.. I like to wear the nike tanjuns I have better but these shoes are falling apart and I'm sure there's a better shoe than that for someone wanting to get more serious into running.
A woman at footlocker told me I'm a slight over-pronator but she didn't really watch me run or anything she just had me take off my shoe and recommended me the kayano because she said she wears them at work and are comfortable, I'm not even sure this woman was a runner, she was pretty overweight.
So I'm going to research that more today to make sure I really am a over-pronator and don't need a different type of shoe instead, but in the mean-time maybe you could recommend me the best cushioned/shock absorbing shoe out of each foot-type thanks.
