Why is it an obsession to ask if anyone knows about a runner?

He had medals, but are they all from this Guinness record attempt, or has he been claiming his own runs are marathons?

Dumb record. A guy travels a lot to jog in different places. How is this a notable accomplishment?

The only difficult thing is getting the money and time to do the travelling.

Because he wants a world Guinness record and if he's on the fiddle like Larry Macon and Parvaneh we'd like to know.

Plus often these people ask the public to fund it all, saying it's for charity, then raise hardly anything for charity.

36 thousand euros for an event! (not even including all flights. Just for 7 races)

I think he is just a rich guy with money to burn.

If you go to his web page there is no mention of charity. If his bio is true (big if) he seems to have had a successful career which has financed his hobby. Significantly there is no 'GoFundMe' link or 'Donate' link, so he is not asking for free money.

He does offer his services as a motivational speaker etc. but at least that requires him to work for his pay. If he is no good at that then word will quickly get round. Mind you I think it would be a good idea to loose the Taliban beard if he wants to get speaking engagements.

It's the usual dilemma, we want a society where people can earn lots of money and spend it as they wish, but then are envious when someone is successful and achieves something we can only fantasize about.

I don’t care if you are walking 26 miles, it is probably difficult to do that 7 days in a row, whilst flying coach from continent to continent, and fighting jetlag.
