What's an Oregon degree worth? Is it worth years of your life pursuing? Probably not.
There is only one reason people go pro this time of year... they’re ineligible.

Centro and Galen have a wager to see who can finish the degree first. As if they couldn’t waltz into Nike HQ the moment they retire and seize a comfy management-tier job, degree or no degree. What is some useless BA in Political Science or Econ going to do for them anyways?
Ça menerve, unlike AJ, a duck that should have gone pro early, Miss Cunliffe isn't ready for the post-collegiate world yet
Wow, really had her pegged as one of those people (athletes) that really cared about her education and worked hard in school. Shocked by this.

Not years. She's a senior.
Article says no eligibility issues
I agree why not finish school, esp if you are a senior on scholarship I presume?
Although just maybe she got an offer she could not refuse as a more unique female white blond fast sprinter from the US.
Still over 2 years out from Tokyo, but maybe there is some other deal only loosely related to athletics.

Um, have you ever seen Cunliffe?

I'm confused by this (tho it has admittedly been almost 20 years since I was in college.)
Can't she simply go back to school when she needs to and finish then?
" Why not finish school"
She's Italian.
Why cuz she’s... wrote:
ain’t trying to get a degree, girl dumb as rocks.. good sprinter but not bright..
She's a senior. Other than a degree, exactly how much more would change in the next few months that would change her from 'not bright' and 'dumb as rocks' to someone considered bright?
It's a piece of paper. She's going professional. She'll be fine.
It must be an eligibility issue. Neither she nor the college is going to state that she is ineligible on the academic side. She would continue school while going pro if there were no issues. She probably didn’t get much of a contract but I wish her well.

Sadly I agree with this. We are getting to a point where a bachelor's degree is useless, unless
1. It is from a really good school, usually Ivy or top 25-30
2. In a major that will pay like STEM, nursing, accounting, etc

This
Any idea who she will be signing with?

No word on who she is signing with, I just heard she was offered a contract that will make Usain Bolt envious.

All signs point to Nike.
