Covering a 'thon at nearly 3 bills is mildly impressive. But 10+ hours is really a fairly slow walking pace. Right around 23:00/mile pace. Why does she blog so much?
Wow she must be fit af! Ragen MF Chastain!

TrackBot! Compare Ragen Chastain vs Jordan Hasay
I imagine racewalkers could cover the marathon distance more than twice as fast as her.

How about you strap on 150 lbs. and go out there and do a hilly full? And I love her attitude and perspective. Come on you jerks, give her a break, she’s one of us.
Attention slut
Whose record did she break
Well Eithiopia might have had 4 women break 2:20 in the same race, but we have a World Record holder!

I think Julianne Wotasik held the previous world record.
Humanity is doomed.

Me too. I think the runners on this site that running long distances have been quite easy for (and I used to be one of them) often forget that for the average American completing a 26.2 mile distance, even walking, is still a big achievement.
Can anyone verify that she was actually moving forward the entire time? If not, she did not complete a marathon; she completed a series of walks.

She took more than ten hours. I'm no racewalker, but last year I walked a marathon at 5:3x--so almost twice her speed. And I did that a few weeks short of my 65th birthday, so maybe half-again her age? (Can't find a stat for her DOB.)
Real top-quality racewalkers would walk a marathon three times as fast as she did--en route in a 50km race.
Since when did a hike become a marathon?
Actually it's easier than a hike because you don't need to carry any water.
Perhaps they should set up a record the the biggest chain smoker to finish a 10km.
I don't understand why running a marathon is a big deal for her.
She just walks the entire distance. No running and no training is required to walk 23 minute miles.
This is an embarrassment.

I could be competitive here, smoke 2 packs a day and run high 32 for the 10k srs. If I upped it to 3 packs a day, I could probably run low 34 still and become a legend or be dead but those are usually one in the same so I might try this?
Someone needs to tell her there are 5k's she can do. Less stress on the volunteers waiting for her to finish.
