Well done my friends.
America has had 1 woman ever that fast and no men. We really need more American men under 2:10.

Is there any testing in Dubai? It seems that many perform well there, but hardly ever again?!?

Well...Tola, who won last year was 3rd here today and still ran just over 2:04. So yeah, I’d say so (he was also Olympic bronze in the 10k in Rio).

This makes Rupp’s 2:09 look like a tempo run for these guys (granted it was a negative split, but still). These guys could have walked the last 400 and still would have had a few minutes ahead of the best Americans.
In before some fool posts that Rupp could easily have run 2:03:50 and won the race.
This happens every year in Dubai. None of the big names go, a load of Ethiopians, who aren't well known, run unbelievably good times and aren't ever seen again.
It's like they invite 2nd tier Ethiopians and tell them there won't be testing...
Kenya has more legitimate testing than Ethiopia.
Does someone have money to spend?
Set up an all American multi loop with pacesetters filtering in and out.
Get the top 6 or so Americans to run and some 5k-10k guys to pace.
We're they all wearing the Vaporfly 4%?
In the post race video, it looked like all the Nike athletes had the Vaporfly.
I seriously think the shoes and the ridiculous speed of the two-loop, almost completely straight course makes this the fastest marathon course in the world. I also heard a snippet on the broadcast that the pavement might be conducive to fast running, but maybe that is simply because it’s in really good condition compared to some other major city marathons.

Fool! The data indicate Rupp ---> 3:50--->7:30--->2:04
Unless he summoned the spirit of Ryun in a prerace seance, then 2:01!!!!!

No, we really need out of competition testing in Africa.

We do. Just like the kind of out of competition testing that resulting in John Ngugi's ban in 1993.
what is the prize money like for the other major marathons? that sweet sweet 200k in dubai will make a man do crazy things though.
