Our Coach does not allow us to have our phones out on the way to or from a Meet. Is this normal?

Yes.
It forces you to socialize. It will be hard at first, but you will thank your coach later.
Is your coach amish?

interesting
In our team, phones help us socialize. They play music loudly and then we all bop to it
I always had my phone. Granted this was just before the iPhone days though. I texted a little but pretty limited.
All my music is on my phone though. Our buses were fairly quiet headed to meets as people were focusing for the meet. A few people talked quietly, but most just listened to music or some did some homework. On the way home the loudness depended on how well the meet went/how late it was.
I assume you mean HS. In college bus rides were generally longer. Obviously we had our phones and computers. People watched movies, did studying, basically did whatever they wanted. Wifi was always bad on those buses though.

We werent supposed to have them at practice but I literally always had my phone to run with to film team activities pretty much for anything except track workouts and yes I socialized with the team.
Had the phone affected my performance or behavior the couch would have banned it though.
No, it's actually quite strange that your coach feels the need to assert that much power. It reminds me of middle school.
dumb lmao
My coach asked us to not have our phones out until after we returned to the school. The only kids that ignored him were the jerks on the team. My coach was awesome and I have never respected any man more.
no dick pics

How will that be possible without being able to text?
Quite the same with us, particularly after a good meet. And our one teammate won like a $200 speaker at a campus bingo giveaway too it gets pretty lit
My high school coach never said anything about it and neither has my college coach. My college coach puts more emphasis on getting focused for the race. If we all start socializing and getting loud on the bus he'd tell us to stop.
