Hi, I am running my first indoor race in 13 years this weekend. Stupid question, but are road racing flats suitable for the indoor track? Currently I have Saucony Fastwitch and Mizuno Ekiden in my arsenal. Not the most ideal, but I don't know if I have time to purchase proper track spikes before the race. Or even have any idea what to purchase these days for track spikes.
We used to wear racing flats in high school indoor tracks because many of the high schools didn't allow them spikes on their indoor tracks, as they were mostly in multi-purpose field houses. I remember the experience being a little slippery on the tight turns of 150m/160m tracks. The 200m tracks were mostly okay.
