Now when I check in to see a highlight I laugh and shake my head, because I can't believe how rapidly things have deteriorated since I quit watching--the games just within the last few years have become so fake. I don't know how anyone could watch, for example, the final play of the Minnesota game and think it was real.
Um, you really don't think freak plays can happen to win a game? Or that this is somehow a "new" thing? The Immaculate Reception, Doug Flutie's Miracle in Miami, Bill Mazeroski's "Shot Heard Round the World," Grant Hill & Christian Laettner's buzzer beater against Kentucky, California's kick return against Stanford, Appalachian State's BLOCKED FIELD GOAL RETURN against Michigan, Kirk Gibson's home run in the World Series, Lorenzo Charles' alley-oop dunk to defeat Houston, the Music City Miracle ... the list goes on and on. Professional, college, high school, pee wee leagues; football, baseball, basketball, soccer ... every sport, every level it happens. You must live a sad life if you don't believe anything extremely exciting can happen without it being "rigged."
