Was Eliud Kipchoge's father a world class runner? I am writing a paper in school about Kipchoge and I was reading this research journal below and was confused by this statement: "There is a birth to recurring traditions where sons of former medalist are making a comeback through their sons and daughters such as Bronze medalist Eliud Kipchoge in Athens in 2004, Gold medalist David Rudisha in London 2012 among others. "
Now I know that David Rudisha's dad was a world class 400m runner. But the only thing I could find concerning Kipchoge was that he was raised on a small farm.
Was his father really a world class runner or am I misinterpreting this quote?
Here is the link to the research paper:

The quote from above is located on the second page and in the 3rd to last paragraph.
Thanks
