There are no guarantees in relationships. But keep in mind only a few people have one person for their entire life. You know meet in 6th grade, never date anyone else and die within hours of each other. You likely will have many failed relationships. Enjoy

It sucks how relationships aren’t “chance” things. One can’t look at statistics and expect their relationship to follow suit, since each one is different :/

umm very people on here have experience of successful relationships but in my experience people change so much at college it normally does not work. and taking time before dating wont make a difference one way or the other

Yes having prior social contact gives you better odds for a second date.

It doesn’t sound weird to me. I don’t get what the question is asking though- one month as opposed to asking her out immediately? I think a month of casual acquaintance is a good precursor to a healthy relationship, although the odds of a girl being “the one” are fairly low to begin with.

I’m just wondering if the length of time you knew them before dating matters.

Like, is the relationship more likely to be successful if you’ve been friends for a year or so before dating? Or, does it not matter how long you’ve known them for?

I've long wondered what might have triggered such a coincidence.

What I recommend doing is this:

College is the time of your life when you date a girl then spend the next week trying to find someone else to date for the next week. (I recommend calling the previous girl to let her know you are still interested in her---girls do get ticked off. I do not think you have to tell her a lot though. Play the field.)

Date lots of girls while you are young and can find them.

I would also give up your porn addiction if you have one as I do!

I think it depends on your prior dating experience with women and how you feel about yourself. It's easy to read women wrong. I know I always have.

Pls note my vow is not to get married and not to have children not to not have long term loving relationships.

A blind date-sex the first day we met. We were a couple for the next 6 1/2 years

Casual neighbor for 5 years ,each in relationship. She divorced moved away we saw each other as friends maybe two dozen times in the next 5 years- when she returned to visit mutual friends. She moved back & we realized for the first time neither of us was in a relationship. Next thing we knew we had been a couple for 8 years

You never know.

My prediction, assuming certain details of your demographic profile (given your presence here on this board), is almost certain failure for you in the relationship realm both now and in the future. Even if you do find a woman desperate enough to stick with you, she will inevitably tire of your sexist idiotic bullshit and leave you in the dust. Just look at the many failed relationships experienced by other male LR posters. In fact, there doesn't seem to be one happily married male with a well adjusted personality on this board.

So, you might as well throw in the towel now.

Length of time does not matter.

It also depends on where you go to school as if it will last.

If you go to San Diego State where there are hot girls everywhere, good luck with it lasting.

If you go to some random D 14 college like most of you tools, it will probably survive regardless of how long before dating. Hope you go to a real University. Not one of those hick schools in Arkansas or something.
