I rarely improve. I have been staying relatively at the same mile time (5:30 to 5:15) for a year. I have absolutely no talent in running and it is always frustrating seeing everyone else pass me. I still have some time left in my high school career and I am determined to reach my goal of 4:30. For someone like me with little talent and base speed, what kind of training would work best for me?
I’m running around 35 mpw right now. I know a lot of high school runners are able to run 4:30s just based off this mileage but that is certainly not the case for me.
