Hi,
I've never posted on here before but I'm in need of some advice from others who've had experience of this.
I started to get a twinge in the bottom of my achilles 7 weeks ago. I thought it was just a blister at first and ran through it for about a week before the pain was too much and I had to stop after 5 minutes of an easy run. The pain was a lot worse with shoes on but when I cut the back off and included a heel lift in my shoe, it started to feel much better. Before this, I was running about 80 miles a week consistently and never have really been injured before or had any trouble with my achilles. I'm a 31 min 10K runner and 15 min 5K runner but this is the longest I've had off and it's killing me!
Recently (after 7 weeks of no running) it's started to feel better and I can walk around pain free now. The creaking is getting worse but the pain has gone. Is it time to start jogging again? When do you know you are ready to give it a try? I've been aqua jogging and cross training basically every day. I'm still aware of it but surely this will always be the case when coming back from an injury?
Thanks!
