I know this has probably been debated/discussed to death on these forums whether it comes to money, doping, and overall being competitive on a professional level... However, I'm interested in professional running after college and don't see myself doing anything else that I truly enjoy. I understand that there is a minimum income to make a person satiated and running (for the most part) doesn't do this, but I'm willing to take any risks associated. I'm going for a degree that will be both beneficial to my pursuit of self knowledge and will grant me a better understanding of the science behind running and lifestyle such as a degree in biology, biochemistry, or of medical sciences. I'm currently going into my Junior year of high school and I was a 2x state champion my sophomore year, and state qualifier as a freshman (I live in a very competitive state). My 5k XC PR is 15:33 and I'm looking to run about 4:15/9:00 this year.
