Molly Huddle PR: 2:28:13
Jordan Hasay PR: 2:20:57
Apparently they are the exact same height, according to Wikipedia. For some reason, I expected Molly to be much taller than Jordan...
Do you know how long 18 months is? That is the time it takes for the soon to be greatest female runner in American history to catch the reigning best runner in the U.S.. The trajectories of these runners are projected to cross at approximately 8 am Jan 14, 2018. The question is will they cross BEFORE the finish line or AFTER????????

Jordan is the future. Molly is the past. The baton will be handed off tomorrow. That's my prediction.
It's crazy to think that Flanagan, Hasay and Huddle are all looking like a dead heat at 13.1 with an AR on the line. Too bad all three likely won't meet until the 2020 Trials, where Shalane will be either on the downslide or retired.

Yep. Molly waited around at the finish line to hand it off.
Ms. Huddle does sound taller on the radio.
Huddle is the best US womens half marathoner we have. I'll always believe she is a better half Marathoner than full. She looks effortless at the half and below.
Hasays strength is the marathon. Salazar knew that. It sucks for the rest of us who wanted to see a showdown but as a coach I can see why Salazar her her pace the race. They also mentioned they thought the pace would start out slower. Hasay probably was expecting people to fall back to her and they didn't. So running alone and gambling wrong cost her some time.

+1
Full is not Half
It does seem that Huddle is a few inches taller based on the pre-race photo on LRC.

Let's see them go H2H in Boston. Jordan's 2:20 from Chicago is an amazing mark and 2:23-flat in Boston in warm weather is great. Molly has only ever run one marathon -- a 2:28 debut for 3rd in NYC -- which is a very difficult marathon. If Molly had run a Chicago, Berlin, or London, do we not think she would have popped off something comparable in her secomd go at the distance?
Huddle 12-0 lifetime now against Hasay.
I would not put a lot of stock in Huddle's 2016 NY result. It was an odd race where Mary Kaitany took off very early and ran a negative split that no one could touch. Molly ran a race for second with Sally Kipyego from 13.1 to the finish.
Half marathon is closer to a 10k than a marathon. So, I would always go with the stronger 10k runner when betting on a half winner. Thus, it was not a surprise that Molly had about a minute on Jordan in the half.
I would give Jordan a slight advantage in the full just because she now has experience. But I think Molly is just a stronger runner and should be the top American in Boston.
The half is much more similar to the 10000 than it is to the marathon. I would expect Huddle to be better at the half than Hasay, given their respective 10000 performances. Hasay turned out to be a disappointment at the 10000, while Huddle has the AR.
The half and the 10000 don't tell you who will ultimately be better at the marathon. Guessing based on limited marathon data (1 for Huddle, 2 for Hasay), Hasay could be better than Huddle at the marathon and there wouldn't be anything strange about that because the shorter distances don't always translate.
.....and Huddle isn't exactly the cream of the crop herself. JR's half was a far better run that Huddle's 1:07. While 1:07 is a solid time, in a loaded field and fast race, it obviously doesn't stand up. She was what, 8th? Our women's national record in the half is barely WR pace for the marathon. With women running as fast as they are now we need to step it up, and not be satisfied with setting a ho-hum national record. Flanagan's win in NYC was far better a performance than that 1:07. Key word: win.

Yes, Jake Robertson’s 60:01 was way better
Funny I've never seen Hasay lose a podium by coasting at the tape. Amateur move.
This tells you everything you need to know about Huddle:
lotta negative nancy's in this thread
you have to laugh at them
