for comparison purposes here is the current UK list. the Great North Run is obviously a lot more popular with British ladies than with Americans and a few of ours would only be on this list if that race was included. I have, however, stripped those out to make things comparable.

a surprising (to me) omission from this list is Sarah Rowell. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Sarah Rowell since she was the first woman to win an open marathon and I had fully expected her to be on this list but her best half marathon is only 72:06.
