I just put 85k down on the Vikings to win the super bowl YOLO. 4-1 odds baby. As a side note I make 220k a year. The rest of my money (about 35k) is currently invested in TD Bank stocks. I already have my car and house paid off so I'll be more than okay even if I lose. But I'm confident I'll come out way ahead here.
Bad troll. Do your research first. Vikings are not 4-1.
4/1 is certainly available, although it's not great value and most likely the return would be greater by simply rolling over the wager via money line three consecutive times.
Yes, I have done this, albeit a long time ago when I wasn't far out of college and my bankroll wasn't particularly impressive. I had just over 10 dimes and bet $770 on 14 different college games on Saturday. I went 1-13 and the only winner was Colorado +26 at home against Oklahoma. They lost 42-17. That's how close I was to a clean 0-14 rout. That was the day Miami blew the 31 point home halftime lead to Maryland. I had Canes -6. Several other brutal beats.
The next day I began the first of 2 all-in wagers. I took Winnipeg in the CFL playoffs for roughly $1500. It was actually some odd amount, like $1502. I left just enough in my pocket for gas money back to Los Angeles, and a Stardust buffet. That was in case I lost.
Winnipeg took care of business. I think they played British Columbia. It was fairly easy.
I was tempted to play all-in again the following night on the Monday Night game but I couldn't decipher it. It was Seattle vs. Raiders and figured to be low scoring.
So I patiently waited all week and bet on Winnipeg again in the Grey Cup, for the 3 dimes I had. Fortunately that was a rocking chair game. The Blue Bombers obliterated Hamilton as small favorite. I never had to sweat.
It took 8 days but I had recouped more than half the losses from that 1-13 disaster. Then I took that $5500ish bankroll and did terrific in early college basketball season. It was my first year living in Las Vegas full time. I got a quick glimpse at the highs and lows.
And yes, I've always had a fondness for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers based on 1984 alone.
