Will Oregon hire Avery now?

More respect for Brodey given that he's likely unaware or just doesn't care that he's wearing dad jeans. Not sure he'll fit in with UofO types that always have to have the best and most fashionable of everything.
Biggest wildcard I see for him is that he was running over 100mpw in HS. Does this mean the training in college won't be too much for him and he'll be able to handle it in stride? Or will it be lower volume and he'll lose fitness? Time will tell.

Perfect!
Those are the worst. Come on, man!
Nice name. Haha
A revulsion towards dad jeans in not an indicator of being a superficial fashionista. It’s just good solid common sense not to wear dad jeans.
laugh all you want about his jeans.... but girls don't seem to care.
Thread title should be: "Hasty Decision To Go To Oregon"
If you're commenting on his clothes, you're either female or gay, not that there's anything wrong with that. Oh no! Was that a Dad joke?
Oregon lost two of its best ever recruits in Verzbicas and Hunter. But they still get great recruits every year and pretty much
everyone who goes there on the men's distance side goes sub 4 for the mile and often sub 3:40 in the 1500m as well.

Good for him! I only have the best wishes for the dude, which include a new pair of jeans for the kid.

Good one, funny and well natured, unlike the majority of anonymous asshats on this thread that would bag on a high school kid. What a bunch of weanies you are.

I think Brody's jeans look a million times better than guys who wear skinny jeans. Skinny jeans.....very feminine.
No.
It's almost 2018. Unless you're a dumpy turd there's no reason not to wear fitted jeans.

Is Hasty about 5'-3"?
The thing is those aren't really "Dad Jeans." They're "baggy jeans," which many skinny jean companies still make.
True "Dad Jeans" are acid washed, lol.
My late father had the same pair of jeans for 20 years. (He wore suits everyday and had a closet for them, only wore jeans on weekends and for yard work.
They were those "pre-faded" jeans, and were cut like slacks, lol. They never looked good from the start, lol. AND, even though he got shorted as he got older, the jeans got shorter and shorter too. They became symbolic of his weekend attire. So much so, that I can't remember what he wore after cutting wood, or something and getting those dirty. I think he actually eventually for a pair of legit Levi's.
We all know "mom jeans" are higher waisted, and have more room in the lower belly /"doolap" area.
70's style high-waisted more "female form" fitting are hip with the late high school and early college set here in Cali. And Damn, they are sexy and flattering to the female form.
The only true "Dad Jeans," out here now, are the slacks/Dockers cut "denim" pants these days. Baggy Jeans, aren't really Dad Jeans.
Funny like though, but he's probably taking all the mean comments here as meaning he's "arrived."
Right. Because Oregon has so badly under-performed on the track over the past five decades.
Um. Maybe a high school senior?
And while we're at it, let's collectively trash a very talented 18-year-old.

99% of the comments are about dad jeans. That for sure is not trashing a kid. It’s funny and probabaly something his friends would say to his face (maybe he needs new friends?). That’s what friends are for. To set you straight on important topics like this.
He's made the best decision of his life - if you're reading this Brodey, Welcome to Duck World! But hopefully you're not reading this junk - postings by runners who could never dream of achieving what you already have achieved in High School, and who will never enjoy the success you will in the NCAA. Jealous, mean-spirited losers with nothing nice to say - you have better things to do with your time. Keep being you, wear what you want and just go RUN!
Funny- I agree with the fashion postings. The fact is the edge on the comments you are seeing is due to the hype surrounding a runner who was stroked by milesplit and chose a private coach over his high school team. Enjoy the moment, Brodey. Next year you will disappear into the pack in NCAA. But we will be able to find you in the dad jeans. Maybe Your private coach can buy some jeans too.

That's a bit presumptuous.
He can always go for the Dad Jeans Mile Record.

Jealous much?
I would not be shocked if this young man found himself as a freshman in the middle of the pack at NCAA cross country. That is one tough race and hardly a harbinger for the future. Not a unique circumstance, even for top level runners.
Having watched him run, though, I think he will be a very, very good 5000m runner very early on. The kid has wheels, and is very strong.

Agreed, how many US HS 2017 graduates finished in the top 50 at NCAA XC? Two. Clinger and Teare. Coincidently, one of the two was a Duck.
The third one was 60th.
It is therefore very likely that he will not be top 50 next year.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
