How about the girls?
Well we know that F-M will be up towards the top again but I'm really not sure about the rest. Maybe Bozeman?
Some of the other girls teams with best returners include Mountain Vista, Battle Mountain, Great Oak, and Wayzata.
For Boys in Cali: St Francis, Dana Hills, Great Oak. Roosevelt losing best 2 and doesn't have the depth.
Look for the CBA boys to be in the top 3. They are returning 4 runners (including their 2-4) from 2017 NXN and also another person who was usually in the top 3 on the team in 2016 (as a sophomore) but missed the 2017 season due to injury.
Katelyn Tuohy could 3-peat if she chooses to do NXN in 2018 and 2019
American Fork boys could be in the mix too especially if they find a fast 5th runner. They are returning their 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 from 2017. All of their top 4 broke 16 at NXR. All of the teams that they lost to at NXR had lots of seniors. They also beat Springville and Timpanogos last season before NXR. They look to be the favorite at NXR SW next season.
I’m guessing the SW region won’t be getting two at large NXN team bids on the boys side this time.
Loudoun Valley could potentially have 3 All-Americans at NXN 2018 like American Fork did at NXN 2016.
In the 3200 this spring, Affolder ran a sub 9, Jacob Hunter ran a 9:07, and Kevin Carlson ran a 9:17 and beat Peter Morris once.
