For a month I've been having pain at the top of my hamstring right below the butt. It hurts more after running even though I didn't feel it at the time. For the past 3 weeks I have decided to try my best to just stay away from all exercise to beat it for good but there still doesn't seem to be much difference. I have also been getting ART and Graston twice a week. Right now I've gotten to the point where I don't have very much pain on a daily basis when walking around the house. I can still feel the ache in the upper hamstring area when I bend over and rise up in certain positions. I have even kept walking to a minimum lately to try and heal the tendon as much as possible.
I've searched all the boards and read up on lots of people who have dealt with this but not many success stories.
Has anybody had this problem and found a way to completely get rid of it? If so, how long did it take before you were able to get back to your previous running distances? Were there exercises or things that were done with a PT that helped significantly?
Any help on this would be great! There seems to not be a typical treatment plan for this because it's not as common and it's been torture not even being able to do yoga, cross-train, swim, or even pilates because there are so many moves that use your hamstring.
