It's pretty standard at my work for manager to give a little something to their employees at Christmas, but I don't want to just copy what my manager does and give gift cards. I have six people that work for me and they are all over 50. Any ideas?

A bottle of wine? A charger they can use in their car? A gift basket that includes cookies/chocolate/wine?
Jars of peanut butter for your vegan employees.
take them to a nice lunch
like the last comment about take them to lunch, our company offers a holiday buffet and i treat the department on my nickel. I also have been shamed into including a couple of others that work closely with us just because they would feel left out even thought technically they are not in my dept.
I also had a boss once who would give everyone a gift wrapped coffee mug. I can't say that i would want to continue in that vain.

Are you seriously expecting to pay out of pocket for this? Assuming you're not the business owner, you shouldn't have to shell money out from your own pocket for gifts to other employees of a business. You should be allowed to take them out to lunch, and bill that to the company. You're all employees. Let the owners who profit from this foot the bill.
T-Shirts that say, “I have the best manager ever!”

At my work, yes, if i bring them out to lunch or the holdiay buffet, i have to shell out the money. A few managers do it, many don't. My job is for a state agency/school/college so we cannot by law charge the lunch to company.
How about a chocolate Donald Trump for their Christmas stocking?
