They're designed for the road. I wouldn't wear them for anything under 20k.
They are optimized for 4:35/mile. If you want to run faster than that, you must spike up.
Spike up

Doubtful the consumer version is. 5:30 maybe.

As a scientist/engineer, I'd say why doesn't the OP do some timed runs and see? That would be better than trusting what others are saying here.
I'm not sure how they would be optimized for 4:35/mile. I do know that the WR that was set in them was at 7:37.x/mile though. If they provide an advantage, why would it disappear at much faster than 4:35? And how would you know that OP's mile pace? Maybe it's 4:35?

WR was at 7:37 min/mile? What?
If you mean 4:37 min/mile, this is wrong too. The WR was set by a runner in the adidas adios. The breaking-2 thing was not record eligible.
Camille Herron's 100 mile WR is the only WR that I'm aware of that was set in the Vaporflys.
White Boy WR marathon in those sukkas too.

Try to keep up.

If I had those I wouldn't have to delete instagram yo
I wore them for a track 10km and they were good for that.
All the Nike elite guys wear them for shorter races too.
I don't know for a mile though - you need to get up on your toes. Wear something a bit more aggressive.

Do you work for adidas or are you just a fanboy? You seem to chime in at every possible opportunity with this information.
Everyone will know you're rich. Do it!

Don't know about the dude you're calling out or his affinity for the Adios, but he is correct.
2017 is a year of shifting shoe types at the elite level. ---no one would of considered such a stack height like the vapor 4 until the sub 2 project proved their worth. 4 years ago, flats were flat and the Adios was stacked high in comparison to real flats. ----BUT dude is correct...The Adios still are the shoes that have set the fastest official marathon times to date and NY 3 years ago showed Boosts on like 90 out of 100 of the top finishers. Adios boost ARE a faster shoe....They just aren't as efficient for long hauls. Vapors will set the newest records I'm sure, they just haven't yet.
To the OP, ---The top xc athlete on our high school team raced vapors all season while recovering from foot injuries. ---ran 15:xx's on grass, gravel and mud with them and definitely hit 4:4x mile paces in them. ---good for 430 pace probably but too wobbly faster than that.
They will not help you. They are too "squishy" and do not set you up to feel the track, which I think is important for something this short.
Spike up....only girls wear flats on the track (but actually though, why do so many girls wear flats and guys never do)?
Yuta Shitara wore them for a track 10000 at the end of November and ran a 27:41 PR.
Oh god, you're a level 7 Susceptible.
Wear the Zoom Victory Elites. They have the carbon fiber plate and are very responsive.
