Why is the winning time 20 seconds slower than in years past on the guys side?

b/c FL is dying
FL: dude in last ran 16:36. NXN: dude in last ran 18:33.

You're dumb. FL only had 40 boys racing. NXN had 200.
Actually last place was like 17:20 or something. I remember a few years ago everyone was under 16... it’s definitely going down.

I don't know if there was ever a year when everyone went under 16 (I know that 37 went sub 16 one year), but I don't think that there was ever a year where only 20 went sub 16 (like this year). Not since 1998 at least.

No, the 40th place guy at Footlocker ran 17:14
the 40th place guy at NXN ran 15:51 (on a wet and muddy course)
There is no longer any comparison to the two events, NXN has won this War.
Did you ever try running on a treadmill while your house was burning down?

Is the treadmill in the house?
By last count I see four national championships for high school kids. What I don't get is why they are running races in December when they should be resting or doing active recovery.
We could use our money in better ways, that's why I am posting as MikeDitka85DaBears, I mean you have to have an IQ of zero to not see that these meets are not helping anyone!

No, it is outside in the path of the smoke.

15:51 was good for 15th at FL.
Hart, Jacobs... times were slower at NXN than FL, so the 40th guy at NXN probably would have been top 10 at FL.

We all realize footlocker has been getting worse each year as NXN is getting better. Don't worry, guys
N*ke runners are so weak that they try to make up for it by trolling the message boards.
But it doesn't help, every year they keep getting worse and worse.
NXN could put the final nail in the FL coffin (if they want) by taking one or two more individual qualifiers by region.
I can't see why a top guy would want to race FL in 2018.
Imagine if Aidan Troutner had run FL this year, we would all think that Hasty was the national champion (even though Troutner ran faster than Clinger ran last year at Nebo and 5As). Why would a top guy cheat himself out of the national champion title.

Right. Just think if FL had the 200 best girls and boys running.
FL >>>>>>>>> NXN
The only thing NX has going for it is an extra N on the end, that's full of hot air.
100 percent of the field at Footlocker ran 17:14 or better,
but only 20 percent of the field at NXN ran 15:51, on a much faster course.
There never has and never will be any comparison to the two events.
NX is a team meet and random teams of 7 runners can't best the best individuals overall.
Footlocker is an Individual Championship, with Regional Teams, of all the top runners.
NXN is a team meet, and tries to make an individual championship by trashing footlocker and runners who go there.
Bad karma from Nike.

Here's what Footlocker can do.
(1) find a better course, with good hills, more room, not so dusty, and not so many twists and turns;
(2) invite more top runners, for example the top 50, 70 or 100 from each region;
(2a) or double the number of regions.
Heck, even just #1 would help quite a bit. I like the FL course and it's history, but it has a number of issues.
