The splits were 67 and 2:18.
The splits were 67 and 2:18.
Were you full blown arms at the end of this? And were you alone? Was anyone at the track watching you? Mileage? Other PRs?
4:41
Just blindly assuming a bunch of other factors, you're probably safely under 4:45 and could give sub 4:40 a scare. But don't look for affirmation on letsrun, lace up the spikes and race to find out
4:40
you wont break 4:50, going 67, 71, 73, your next lap would be a 79 or 80 at that rate. it becomes exponential once you start falling off pace. starting at 75's would be realistic and pushing the last 600 might put you around 4:50. You need a good race to get under that
Who cares? 1600 yards is not an event. Neither is 1600 meters. This is like me asking: 'If I just did 5 miles in 58:32, what could I run 9km in?'
Why don't you ask about 1500m or 1 mile? They're both standard events. Records are even kept for those.
Be honest with yourself ... have a look at your splits. There is a +6 second differential between lap 1 and lap 3.
67 - 71 - 73
Do yourself a favor, step off the track and punch yourself in the nuts if you go out faster than 71.
Current PRs:
5k-17:37 (by myself)
3200-10:46(last year)
1600-4:56 (last year)
800-2:12
It was all out, and there were a few other friends with me but I won by over 15 seconds so I didn't really get the benefit.
4:46
Assuming even pacing in good competion without the track being too crowded... etc? I say 4:41. My actual prediction for date fitness is 4:44, because those conditions won’t all come together more than once in a very long while. I think the biggest factor that could throw off predictions is how much more you respond to a race scenario than a normal workout or TT.
Did you run all out on the last lap? If so, I doubt you would get under 4:45. Take it out in 70 when you race and maybe you can get close to 4:40.

Don't take it out in 70. You were dying after three laps at 4:41 pace, so don't assume you're in better than 4:48 shape. Go out in 72-72, and then pick it up if you feel good. This is the way to find out if you are in 4:50 shape or 4:44 shape.

I ran 3:30 as a sophomore early in track and I ended up running alot of 4:41's and eventually ran a super negative split race going 4:39. I only ran 2:16in the open 800 the one time I ran it. and I ran the last half of my 4:39 in 2:16.

Ok I wouldn't say that was a super negative split by normal standards but to me at the time it was lol
