The update to the summary section at the top absolutely blows. Why would anyone think this is an improvement? Info you used to be able to see at one glance is now multiple clicks away. With the old layout you could easily see someone's progression year to year and season to season in each event and their PB was conveniently highlighted all in one place. Now you don't even know which year or season their PB is from, and you have to click through to see each season.
The event history and season history tabs are improvements (although you can't see place now), but the summary section has lost 85% of its utility. it just takes more time to get the info you want.
Agree with everything you said.
I also came to rely on the old tfrrs summary section to get a quick snapshot of athlete progression. I don't want to scroll through pages of athlete data and try to calculate this stuff in my head.
Suggestions to fix the new TFRRS:
- fix all the links that blow up (there are many)
- add a place column to the athlete "season history" and "event history" reports (how hard can this be???)
- remove the unneeded athlete "meet results" report
Athletic.net does a great job presenting data, and they are 10x faster loading pages than tfrrs. Unfortunately athletic.net does not have 100% coverage of college results like tfrrs does.
