He PR’d in the 600, 800 & 1500, made a US team, was top 3 in 2 of 3 outdoor champs, set a world best, won an indoor title with Brooks. I’d say that was great decision.
Whatever he did last year to get kicked off was the mistake.

cas loxsom is the most disappointing runner in the USA right now. for someone as talented as he is, he should be consistently winning medals on the world stage. instead his PR is barely under 1:45. he is easily 10x more talented than nick symmonds but has less than 1/10th of the accomplishments.
biggest mistake he ever made was joining brooks.
his PR in the 600 is from outdoor 2013 right after he graduated and before he signed with brooks. his indoor world best in the 600 isn't even his PR and he barely beat isiah harris
They were dumb to focus so much on indoor track when outdoor is the only thing that matters. he was world junior silver medalist in the 800 and he's underachieved big time since then.
his PR from college is 1:45.31 and his current PR is 1:44.92 - terrible development.
