Why most people still think you get sick from low temperatures

What about the idea that being cold reduces your immunity to viruses and bacteria? Along with everything else you mentioned. It can't help you to be overly cold.

Oh dear. Moron alert. The cold virus; when exposed to it; lives in your nasal passage. When this area becomes cold, this triggers the virus into becoming your full-on cold. Keeping warm, ideally your nose, reduced the chances of this virus developing. So, the keeping warm and wrapped up thing, and in particular - staying out of cold rain - works! You're welcome.

By being cold I assume you meant when the temperatures are low. No, your immune system works perfectly fine when it’s cold. Your body fights viruses the same.

It’s viruses and bacteria that gives you the cold, the flew, pneumonia...

No virus or bacteria- you won’t catch anything even if you’re wet and naked in the snow. Low temperatures can only give you an uncomfortable feeling or at worse cases hypothermia. So why people get sick more during the winter? Because bacteria and viruses survive longer times due to low temperatures and because people keep windows and doors closed and this way if you happen to be in the same place with a sick person- you more likely to catch it since there’s less fresh air and ventilation.

You are exposed to viruses constantly if you lower your immune system by getting wet and cold you are more likely to pick up a virus

Your immune system works the same whether you’re cold or wet or dry. When you take a shower, you’re immune system is working the same. When you’re in the snow- the same. Enough mumbo jumbo
