I think I know the correct answer, but I'm getting various opinions on what can, and cannot, be accepted based on the language below. Looking for thoughts from the Lets Run board followers. Thanks
You Are Not Eligible:
If you have violated your status as an amateur athlete by (a) accepting any amount of money or any kind of merchandise valued above $100 retail, (b) signing a contract for your services as an athlete, (c) receiving any benefit for the use of your name, picture, and/or personal appearance as an athlete, (d) providing any endorsement, as an athlete, in promoting a profit-making event, (e) playing under another name or (f) appearing as an athlete (with or without permission) in a commercial/advertisement and/or profit-making event, item, plan or service.
Can high school runners accept $100 cash, or $100 in Gift Cards/Gift Certificates as well as any kind of merchandise valued at $100 or less?
Or, are kids not allowed to accept ANY Cash, Gift Cards/Gift Certificates, but can accept merchandise valued at $100 or less?
