Mouse (out due to recent contract extension)
Common sense would say Pat Henry has the most Texas connections, has the most experience building a program, and is perhaps looking for one more fresh start for his swan song???
Floreal would be crazy to leave Kentucky.
Update: Edrick floreal is now committed at the Austin insane asylum.
MVA is not being renewed. We will see where he ends up.
Who left Navy... not Cooksey?
All the talk at New Balance is: (Now we are in North Carolina.)
Washington job:
Washington: will get a guy like Arkansas Bucknham, Smith's name keeps coming up
Texas: Floreal distance coach / If not Herbster / Pro coach but pro coaches do not have college expereince, Herbster just say no thank you to Floreal and go to UNC. Although the real question is if Vanhoy got UNC who would he transfer?
Vanhoy: Waleed, Parker both are young
If Herbster got UNC and took people with him,
Worley, Rice, Rogers, O'Neill all are young minus Rogers, probably could not afford all of them
Other hot topic is what is Arkansas doing as everyone wants to leave: Bucky, and the Throws dude to UTenn
One topic interesting was Kentucky, people are excited to see a new direction at Kentucky as people are tired of the pro athletes taking up time on the table.

Probably talking about the new hire from Arkansas
Any word on Notre Dame?
Word on the street is Adam Smith of Syracuse, UNC alum, could head the distance helm st his Alma Mater.

I really hope that is the case. He has done his time. Time for him to go to the next level

ND will be conducting phone interviews next week. Then, they will bring 3 or 4 for on-campus interviews the following week.
Smith would be a good hire as alum, but that would only leave 5 distance coaches at the CUSE and no Knight. How would they survive? Meaders should hire the other alum van hoy at least he brings people with him at a non distance school. Van joy is one distance coach doing the work, how many programs that run at a high level have one coach? Not many ? Unc still hiring two distance coaches as Roberts would be gone as well
What if coaching positions were filled with votes? Getting Mike Smith to UNC is like getting the back up to the back up. Ryan Vanhoy at least you know what he has accomplished. Mike smith probably holds Brian Bells clipboard who holds Chris Fox coffee.
What’s the news on Virginia hire for women’s xc?

Can confirm they are definitely hoping to hire a top tier female coach but those being considered are top tier coaches period, regardless of gender. If they can't get a top tier, they will hire the best candidate for the job and one who can out recruit Va Tech. There is strong mention that they want Helen Lehman-Winters from USF. The next two I've heard heavy mention and know have been contacted are Diljeet Taylor from BYU and Andrea McDonough from Iowa State. I'm sure there are others being contacted but these are the ones I know of.
That’s sad when colleges are looking to hire the same few people for a position. Name another job industry that does this? I would be embarrassed..
Some of y'all are clueless.
UNC doesn't pay anywhere near what VanHoy makes. He is out. Adam Smith is probably much more suitable for UNC. They aren't very good, the job doesn't pay much, and not very well supported by admin. They will at best get a coach that was just let go or a young guy with this being is first head job.
UVA women's XC will not steal a D1 director from anywhere. Maybe they get someone in the same position as above. UVA is not a better job than BYU or Iowa State (unless Martin Smith is retiring).
Bobby Lockhart is getting the UNC job
Newell to texas? Heard this but I thought he was taking ninow and some of staff with him to tex.

Are you serious? UNC is a sleeping giant. Under the right conditions they could be extremely successful. I don't know the financials but it's not like they are in the poorhouse...it's not always a question of money. Vanhoy is an alum, no?
UVA is not getting any of those women that were mentioned.
