Coach Damon Martin from Adams State! Boom end of discussion again!
Coach Damon Martin from Adams State! Boom end of discussion again!
D2 is alot easier to develop all around at national level. When he does it at D1 let me know.... drops mic.
In 2016, Syracuse won the ACC Indoors with 27 points from events other than the distances (5th in the 60, went 1-2-5 in the 60 hurdles); at this year's ACC, they scored 27 points from events other than the distances (8th in the 100; 1-2-4 in the hurdles; 5th in the 4x100).
Note there were no points in any field events.
That's not a track and field team. Syracuse is a distance team with a few sprinters and nothing to show in the field events.
Nice try, pal.
Damon Martin. That was funny. I believe we are discussing a D1 program.
So in the last few days I've heard Lonnie Greene, Robert Johnson and Bucknam for the UT job. Which is it???
I’ve been applying to all jobs. My resume with all my countless All Americans and Conference team championships will over whelm all. Be scared be very scared. I am coming and the dogs of hell are coming with me.
I’m ready to emerge from my parents basement to be the resurrection of Bowerman/McDonald?
God Bless ?
Looks like Susquehanna University is hiring a head person, too. Wonder what happened there?
There are plenty of what ifs in regard to Georgia’s losing National Championship by a point. For what it’s worth, it is not clear that Kate Hall’s sub-par performance was due to any actions of the coaching staff. She has type 1 diabetes.

Pointless post. Pretty sure she doesn’t want social media to know her health issues.
Georgia Men scored 52 points this year, and won the National Championship. Out of those 52 points, 8 were scored on the track...2 in the 100, and 6 in the 200. They won by 10. Remove those points, and they still win the National Championship. With all Field Events. In your logic, Petros is doing a bad job because his model of scoring the most points in a track meet doesn’t come with a well rounded “track team?” Yeah. Makes sense.
The goal to win a meet is to score the most points. Who cares where they come from.
The best head coaches are coaches who hire good assistants and understand and capitalize on the best model for their program to score the most points.

They still won though. How many distance pints is LSU or A and M getting? UGA just won a title scoring in 4 events? Why discount distance points
Additionally, Pat Henry hasn't won a men's title since 2013 and hasn't won one outright since 2011 LSU hasn't won one since 2002. Their cross teams are also absolutely awful. Why should a Sprint coach be director they obviously cannot field full programs since their distance squads cant get points. (see how easy that is).

Distance doenst win national titles anymore. On the uga note, I heard a rumor babbit is being tabbed by lsu because lsu will give him more freedom in his outside of team track endeavours. But I hold this with a grain of salt. Still something that was said.
This is a coaching discussion board for jobs. It's no just for DI. It's all relative and not any easier to develop an all around DII program than DI. That is just stupid to say. But what the people on these boards that are not coaches have no clue on is budgets and scholarships and the total cost at each school! You can be the best coach in the world but if you can not get a kid into your school or get them their for a reasonable cost it doesn't matter.

Pretty sure she doesn’t mind, although she would be the last person to make excuses.
I've heard the same thing from a couple other people. Babbitt was told he wasn't allowed to do some clinics he wanted to do overseas and he wasn't happy about that. LSU would allow him to do this and give him money to recruit foreign athletes as well

It is easier to develop talent to a national level at d2 than at d1. That is not stupid to say its facts. D2 has a lower standard for national participation. Good D2 and midmajors are typically getting the same talent. Do not get it twisted. And Adams is very easy to get in, cheap, fully funded, and has a very generous budget. So not the best choice.
Everything you are saying is correct except for the part about Adams State being fully funded (It actually has less than half the number of scholarships allotted for track and field by the NCAA) and having a generous budget (It has always been heavily dependent on State funding, which has been cut due to declining tax revenue).
While the best choice no doubt includes much more than simply doing more with less, that is an area in which Coach Martin has few peers (in any division.)
Since Babbit quit all the outside NCAA stuff he has been more productive for uga. Not happy about what? Doing other stuff that are not part of his job? Petros has helped him be more productive, that’s the point. Quit trolling. This sounds like someone that just ‘left’ the program because they just couldn’t Get the job done. Babbit is very happy at UGA and Petros is a good boss.
