I will tell you why Notre Dame is a distance school: You would not try to turn the U into a distance school, Miami is a sprint school.

Huffins to UNC, please keep Meaders. A thousand other people you could have said and you said Huffins, Lol

They've won conference championships after conference championship with major points in the sprints.
Why would they suddenly drop that.
Very likely gig goes to their current GA. Hes a former athlete there who trained under Kenny and stepped up when he left.
Same reason they have 3 distance based individuals on staff.
Besides haven’t you realized this is a place of speculation and wild guesses. So like I said, who knows what they’re going to do. Unless you, yourself, are the decision maker at NAU.
Heard word that the Wofford gig is about to open up. Spartanburg wouldn't be a terrible place to try and build a program. Right up the road from conference "rival" Furman and they seem to have it figured out. Pretty sure Furman has have a full allotment of assistant coaches and scholarships. Given the money, it's conceivable they could compete at the same level. You would inherit the Conference Freshman of the year who just qualified for the NCAA's in 2 events along with a few young conference champions and decent relay teams and jumpers. It's a tough sell with the budget considering how much money the athletic department has as a whole. Who would be on the initial short list here?
I saw several retired professionals talking to coaches in Tampa. The sharks were really circling at the East Preliminaries so don't be surprised to see some familiar ex athletes from 07 get coaching positions.
Wofford might be nice IF the school decided to actually fund the program, which hasn’t happened up to this point. On top of that, Wofford isn’t cheap, around 55k a year and has high academic standards. Sounds like a bad position to me.
What's the word on lsu throws? Must have contacted some folks by now. Sure more talks at nationals.

Didnt Rolle tried to replace Spry with Lonnie Greene for years? Why would Auburn admin go with Rolle best buddy, you'd think they learned their lesson and avoid the islands all together.
Hopefully Notre Dame and Texas are making better decisions then the names thrown in.
Does anybody knows whats going on with UNC? New head or nah?

Any updates on SIU-Carbondale? Are they really cutting men’s track?
What will Raske do if they’re only women?
There is no rumor of SIU dropping Men's TF. If you knew the situation, you wouldn't be asking about cutting Men's Track or what Raske would do with only the Women.
They won't be cutting Men's Track and Raske won't be coaching a Women-only program at SIU.
This is one of the most thinly-veiled in-house responses I've seen on here. Thanks Raske and co. for the press release.
Title 9 violation and budget problem? Not a good sign for a certain men's program.

Lonnie Green is the BEST candidate fro Auburn, he is SEC tested and proven. Helped Arkansas women's team become what it is today. Took over a horrible Purdue team and coached them to BIG champions in a short time. So if Auburn is Smart this is the way to go.
Houle ain't going anywhere. He is committed to SUU
Not True, SIU would cut other sports before cutting Men's track. Especially with the past history and how well the program continues to do.

Sure he is...until a Power 5 offers him a $150,000+ starting salary.
I am not saying he is going anywhere, I have no idea; but the Big Sky can't compete with a UW or a Notre Dame. Even career coaches hope to retire comfortably one day.
Looks like the future of ASU has been set.
