Anybody else have a phone interview in the last few days for a head coaching position where the entire search committee on the call consisted only of the A.D. and the 24-year old cheerleading coach? They also asked the most basic questions (describe your strengths and weaknesses, what is your management style, etc) that were seemingly pulled from “HR Questions for Dummies” if such a book existed. I am guessing I was part of a charade interview process so they could check off that they did phone interviews before moving onto hiring whomever it is they already planned to hire.
Bro - what you are recommending is discrimination. You are the reason we have to have these laws.

There were just trying to find out your race and gender so they know if there should be a follow up interview.

So, I don't log on to this thread for a week, see five pages of unread messages and think - "Man, there must have been a bunch of unexpected changes."
Instead, I read about the guy at Sac State hiring his guys from NAU and a bunch of dudebros commenting on women in coaching.
I'm not surprised, but I was a little disappointed.

Go cry on the fires then, Cali.
What’s the deal with UCSB?

That's all well & good. But what got the latest subject started was basically "how many women actually want to coach in college" knowing they're going to have to work for under minimum wage for years to have no personal life & sacrifice a family (or likely get screwed if they try to start one...regardless of the legalities)?
This is much different then what was reported a few pages back. Last minute change or someone screw up?
What in the world is going on at Memphis? Who is the sprints coach? They still have Miles Smith on their website. It seems like it’s a revolving door there regarding assistant coaches.

The relevant coaching/recruiting experience of this staff is extremely low. The coaching "Stats" in the press releases are from athletes that they did not personally coach. It seems that the HC was either desperate, or wanted inexperienced/unaccomplished coaches that are easier to control.
Just read the press release. Looks like Sac State made a great hire! Congrats Sac State and Aaron and I do not even know you.
Who besides bomar is interviewing at wcu?

No one. It's his if he wants it.
I heard the job was offered to WCU Olympian, Manteo Mitchell. With his connections internationally WCU will become relevant at the national level.
ICYMI...she replaces Joanna Hayes, who is now a volunteer coach at USC

Darius Terry Interim XC, Gray Horn Interim T&F . My guess is the admin will let them keep their jobs. Still blows our minds how they handled the Dolan ordeal.
