WCU only pays $50k so not happening for about half this group.

What about former assistant Matt Finger, I think that was his name. Why not bring back Danny, since he is now un-retired and back at it coaching again
Wrong.
$80k for head position.

As a current WCU athlete, we would LOVE to have coach Williamson back. You don't think athletes watch this page???? BRING BACK COACH DUBBS!!!!!! Coach McDaniel was terrible. He ran off so many good athletes.
Bring Manteo Mitchell back to Cullowhee!!! An olympic athlete along with the current coaching staff could recruit internationally!
Awesome website you linked.
Doesn’t always include bonuses, car allowances, camp, etc.
Interesting
Rollie Geiger $125k
Laurie Henea $77k
Chris Seaton $52k

These “bonuses, car allowances etc” that is only relevant to P5 coaches correct?
1. You clearly must have attended the university to "know so much" about it. Kids are kids. Talk is cheap. Facts are facts.
2. I can assure you Danny didn't start those 'rumors'.
3. Define results?.... Seems to be some skewed information here. They don't care about anything but football there from what I have noticed. Oh, and maybe basketball.
4. The best thing they can do now is FIND ONE OF THEIR MOST NOTABLE ALUMS (who really isn't that hard to find if we are being real) and HIRE HIM! Maybe even bring Danny back to his rightfully earned and established position .
Say what you want, but the WCU T/F program has a longstanding history of success. I'd love nothing more than to continue to see it prosper and grow.
What is the WCU head coach salary?

What does the assistant position pay?
If I recall from an earlier page on this thread Lockhart was being paid around $90,000. This current position will probably be less maybe around $70,000? Based on the fact Lockhart was there for a decade and helped with multiple national championships.
Harlis from UNC listed at $160k
WCU Alum here.
There are lots of coaches in the WCU/DW tree. The Wofford guy (Bomar) has actually done pretty well there, he got a girl to NCAA's last year outdoors and again in XC this year. He has no facility there, it is really expensive and yet he's doing good (not great) things. Would be a solid hire. Tim Vaught has been at Virginia Tech for a while now, he usually gets the itch right about now to move and he's an alum, he's a great coach and that would be a slam dunk hire.
I get the appeal of Manteo to some, but the guy has zero coaching experience other than being a GA and a volunteer under Danny. Would make a great assistant based on his name, but not prepared to lead a program like WCU where you have to wear many many hats.
The throws coach at ECU isn't leaving. Langley has spent a lot of time at P5 schools and would probably grow frustrated with lack of resources.
The three most prominent coaches out there with ties are Bomar, Vaught and Langley and they were all at WCU about the same time I think. One of those guys would be the best pick.
Any news on texas state? Heard hire was suooosed to start first week of novemeber.
I agree with the assessment of all of the great former WCU athletes and coaches that have been mentioned above. Every single one of them would do an amazing job, especially back at their alma mater. However, not one of them wants to come back. I could see the administration going in a different direction strictly because none of the former legends want to come back. Best move would be to promote from within.

Is this a formality posting or Does Dave Smith already gave someone in mind?
Bomar would kill for the head gig at WCU.
Wofford has been very bad for his entire time there except for the young distance phenom there now.
"young distance phenom there now"- best distance runner Wofford has ever had, yet they have "been very bad his entire time"... Let's not act like there is a proud history of Wofford T&F/XC he's trying to uphold
