Judgmental? You mean Factual? It looks like he really has become, what is known in college coaching circles as a "jumper." He jumps from one job to the next without regard to what he is leaving behind or the quality of job he is doing. To him it's just a paycheck, and that is not the kind of individual you want on a staff.
My lord. What is wrong with this guy? The bigger question is how does he keep getting jobs? Zero loyalty.

Yes, you are correct. Those are the facts, but who are we to say why the guy leaves. Would I want someone on my staff like that? No way, but I choose not to judge why he does what he does.
What's it to you? You paying his bills? The man just moved from a low paying assistant position to a Head Coaching position. Looks like a smart move to me as Head Coaching jobs don't come around all that often.
Why would he be out? Preble, Brazier, fray, Dixon, Sammy F’n Watson!!... seems to me he’s been doing a great job there. I know he’s not the guy recruiting them (Henry) but he’s had great success there. Why would they let him go?
Loyalty?
I don’t know this Coach but I don’t believe loyalty is required in this profession because of the pennies the vast majority of coaches make.
Until our sport coaches make decent money then let’s not talk about loyalty. Too many coaches just trying to hold it together. It’s sad.

NCAA violation will do that to you.
Anyone heard where Bryce Allen ended up after leaving OSU?

Where does Fracniqe go next after being dismissed from A&M, any word. Also who’s taking over his position?

What does this do for A&Ms middle distance squad? I would say they’re pretty set up for success without him. I don’t believe his departure will have the same effect as when LSU dismissed their middle distance coach, they are non-existent in the SEC indoor meet which is pretty weak this year.
My son is researching D1 schools and we would like some help finding a good fit for him. For context, he is a junior with soph times of 4:17/9:25. Researching the schools is proving to be far easier than finding out usable information about the coaches. Sure there is a lot of info about how long they have been at the program and where they were before, but there is little about their style or effectiveness. Is there a ranking of distance coaches that would at least tell us who to talk with and who to avoid? It would be very helpful to make some cuts now that the emails and phone calls have started.

This is not the place to ask which coaches to avoid.
That’s why I’m asking where I can find that place.

It's not here.
First off...those aren't d1 times. He should look high end D3 and have a better experience.
Got it. What are D1 sophomore times? Maybe I should inform the D1 coaches he has been talking with that they don’t know what they are doing.
It’s interesting that someone asking for help in finding out information about a sport we all care about and are here to discuss is told to scram rather than get considered aid.

Don't listen to this idiot.
Those are pretty good times for a Soph. going into Junior year. Chuddingtonbear is a basement dweller that doesn't understand progression and thinks kids just bust out as freshmen running sub 4:10 and sub 9:00. If your son steps down to sub 4:14ish and sub 9:15ish this year and looks to be a 4:10 and 9:00 runner by the end of his senior year, then he can hang at most D-I schools. Those times get your foot in the door with a little money, but what happens from there is anyone's guess. Could go well, could flame out. I myself was a kid with similar times my soph. year and ended with 4:09 and 8:58 times. Of course, I also coached a kid that barely broke 4:20 and 9:20 in HS to a low 13:40's college 5k and a sub 8:00 3k, so with high school times, you just never know.
As far as a source for rating coaches etc. That doesn't exist. Everyone has an opinion about what makes a good coach, especially on here. Some think if a coach is "nice" and cares about the athletes holistically as a young person, no matter the athletic result, they are a great coach, some only look at end of season results, even of the coach is an absolute tyrant. Others still, may only consider a great coach someone who develops talent, and not what some on here term a "talent manager". It's really all over the spectrum. The best you can do is talk to current athletes either via social media, or on an official or in official visit to see what their opinion of a program/coach is.
Good Luck!
Thank you!
