We must have the same sources. My fault, one heavy hitter. Heard he was offered job weeks ago but no announcement.

What about UNO? Still haven’t named a head coach. Grad assistant is listed for cross.
Hired a track coach last week, looking for distance coach still. They fly through coaches at that school. I wonder what the issue is.

dejesus
UNO has hired Brian Johnson. They have also already chosen a distance coach.
Memphis is in the process of interviews.
Air Force has their guy.
Rumor is Akron is going with the sprints coach from Northwestern State.
Now since that’s over with what’s going on with Northeastern and Drake?

Good choice for UNO.
Any ideas on the Air Force selection?
Akron would be doing themselves a service by picking up the NSU coach from what I can see.

Some of these are true some are also false. NW sprint coach isn’t going anywhere. Northeastern has their person. UNO has head but not distance. Not sure about Drake.
Dude don’t spread BS on here. You named namea when it was true and didn’t name a name when you were making it up. Good try
I’m not here to make stuff up. I’m just saying what the word is. Some people sit on this board everyday and post stuff they “think” will happen, that not what I’m here for. I’m not sure about who UNO is bringing in I just know they made a hire. If you don’t believe just sit back and wait on it, but it doesn’t affect me lol.
Maybe it is true that the current WCU Staff inherited a winning program. The key is can they keep it a winning program. With the loss of Coach Austin Davis, it could be tough. McDaniel is a genius, and a great coach but he will need some help. To fill Davis' spot he needs to look no further than about 50 miles east of Cullowhee. He has the perfect match there. Manteo Mitchell, former WCU superstar, (basically rewrote the WCU Record book) as an athlete there under Danny. Went on after his collegiate career to experience some success on the professional scene. I believe he claimed a Silver Medal at 2012 London Olympics, Gold at Indoor World's and won a couple of US Championships. Probably would do wonders for recruiting to WCU. HIs experience, background and knowledge probably could keep or possibly elevate the WCU short and long sprint program. WCU and Coach McDaniel should jump all over this and run (sprint) with it!!!!
Anything new on NAU throws? What abaout Ragin cajuns? I am assune since they list a female and a minority this offseason they will probably be pushed towards one or the other.

Where have you been, this thread is all about speculation. Welcome to the party! Herbster to UNC was a done deal right, now he’s at Pitt. Mcgregor to Texas remember? Until you see a press release don’t buy into it. But relax and play along it’s fun.

Yes let's speculate. Brian Johnson to NO is an awesome pick up.
The Air Force gig is super slow because of government so won't have anyone till like the end of September.
Western Carolina will likely go with Manteo Mitchell if he's interested which according to Twitter he is.
Who will get the last spot at William and Mary or at University of Kentucky? Why haven't I heard anything on these two?
He makes $91,100. A lot more than you implied you thought he was making. Only 8,900 below 100K.
http://oklahomawatchdata.org/university-salaries/search?q=lockhart
Punched in Dave Smith and he gets paid $237,000 base salary!
If Lockhart makes that much, why would he go to UNC unless making more? Has UNC invested enough in distance to pay coaches that much?
UNC absolutely does not pay that much for the assistant to the assistant of the director of track and field. FYI, some directors of track and field at SEC schools make in the $110-130K range, I know because one of my high school teammates ran at a well funded SEC university and they found his coach's salary online. It was $114K at the time. That was about 8-9 years ago. This was one of the top football schools as well.
I competed in the ACC, and had inquired to my coach about funding at the other schools, and he said UNC was not in the highest echelon of ACC funding. He said it could definitely be worse, but in regards to conferences, the ACC does not compare well to the other Power 5 conferences.
He said UNC was mid tier for the ACC. No way UNC pays close to $91K for the assistant to the distance coach.
If I am Lockhart's financial advisor, or career advisor, I would tell him to at least wait until he is offered a full time HEAD distance position.
This is not even a lateral move. This is a downward move on the totem pole.

W&M just finished phone interviews and will be doing face-to-face interviews shortly. I have no speculation but we'll know soon enough
