There is already a 2018 one that is 2 pages already! This needs to be deleted.

Olivet is still looking for a jumps coach and a GA. Not posted, contact HC
VCU Athletics is seeking a graduate assistant to assist in the day-to-day baby sitting operations of the Track & Field program during the 2018-19 academic year. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: (Practice/Competition Responsibilities) * Attending all practices and competitions; * Recording times and splits at practice and competition when needed; and * Other practice and competition responsibilities as assigned and in accordance with NCAA rules.
A lot of these positions are filled

Yale Director of Operations/Assistant Coach
Creighton Head XC -men and women but no track program
Where did you see the Yale job posted? Not on their site, not on NCAA site.
What does this position pay?
Is the Boise State throws position really still open? I heard they hired someone weeks ago.
It's not the Long Beach State assistant throws job that is open. It is for Long Beach City College. Colin Dunbar was already hired as the LBST assistant throws coach.
Hey "Not True, Fake News". I believe your information from a long time D1 coach is incorrect. You're thinking of the scholarship proposal. In that case the cross country coaches voted to have more scholarships but track coaches did not. "Back from convention" is correct. Both cross country and track approved the proposal to add more coaches. So for the purposes of this thread, you should probably all start positioning yourself for the great coach grab of summer 2019.[/quote]
So what does this mean......the $40,000 a year positions at most schools become $22,000 positions so they can afford to add another coach at $18,000. The NCAA will have another influx of distance coaches. Power 5 conferences will just get further in front of everyone else. what really should be addressed is having an NCAA Div. 1-AA champonship for the trams that either can't or won't pay for additional staff.......even though it is greatly needed.

Hearing that Samford Coach, McGregor, headed to Yale or Harvard. Not sure where he would go though.
I call b.s. on this:
Why would McGregor depart Samford?
1) he has an NCAA Champion
2) at the NCAA XC South region his women finished 2-6-9 to place 3rd as a team and barely miss team auto qualifier.
Future is bright for the Bulldogs!
So who did Marshall just hire as assistant throws coach?

For the bigger programs, they'll be able to hire another full time coach per gender. Some of the big programs aren't hurting for money, so they'll be able to pay decent. For most of the small schools it will mean either another graduate assistant, or more likely, making a volunteer coach a 'countable coach'. Right now volunteer coaches have limitations, mostly to do with recruiting. This proposal would allow them to do everything that a full time coach would do.
The 2017 thread is still going strong. If you all want me to lock that one and shift here let me know.

is 2017
I believe they had a volunteer or a GA that was working with the throwers that was doing a good job. not sure who it is, but i am sure that they went with that person......at Marshall

So, I read a rumor on one of these Letsrun threads that McGregor was leaving Samford and going to an Ivy League school. Someone else, claiming to be in the know, says that is 100% BS............... Now, I hear from a coach at an Ivy League school, that McGregor has been talking to one of the Ivy League schools.
My question is: Which Ivy League school has an opening? And why would McGregor leave if he has done a pretty good job at Samford?

The only Ivy with an opening right now is Yale, I believe.

I am the parent of a Yale student athlete in the track and field program. I can tell you that there are three names being rumored for the Yale job. And McGregor is one of the finalists. I have no idea whether or not McGregor is using the Yale job for job leverage at Samford, or if he is actually interested in the job. But his name has come up for the job.

Why would he leave a program as a head coach to be an "assistant coach and director of operations?"
Like many "Head" cross Country coaches (distance babysitter) McGregor is still a lowly assistant coach to the Head track Coach, Tiffin.

Distance coaches are given the. title of "Head XC Coach" to make up for their low pay and little responsibilities and most keep seeking better employment opportunities.
I just saw today that there are several openings at UCF. Does anyone know what happened? It looks like they cleaned house.
