I've heard this as well. What are his responsibilities at Bama currently?
He is currently the HCh (Head Clipboard holder).

Isn't Cal Baptist where Annie Bothma is transferring to?
Why is this a good move? Is he from the west coast? So much success at a school that is much better known and can draw from a larger area. LaVerne is an extremely regional school. Very limited recruiting area from what I can tell. Very small campus. Are students even resident?Curious about why someone would leave so much success to go start from scratch.
Because New Jersey is a pit. How are you even questioning someone leaving New Jersey to go to Southern California?!?
Because Stevens doesn’t even have their own track.
SoCal is nice in many ways, and hell in just as many ways. Unless you’ve lived there, you’ll never know. But I agree, NJ isn’t much to talk about in many areas. Lots of telent in NJ and not many schools to recruit against. Many athletes want to leave the state. Lots of talent in CA, but a lot of schools to recruit against and LaVerne I suspect is pretty far down the list for most outside that area. I’d say I have a decent knowledge of D3 and I was surprised I had never heard of LaVerne before this summer. Of course, I spent most my life on the east coast.
Anyone know why La Verne Head coach left Azusa last year after a long and seemingly successful career there? Director retired and then Reid left a month later. Was he not given the director position so he left? Looking for new challenge of building a D3 program or was there something more to it?
Neither does Cal Baptist, but they are a successful distance program. Fully funded scholarships (D2 numbers) so that helps a lot.

not on the 2018 XC roster.
Cal Baptist is another school that is mostly international. almost half of their roster is international. They are moving up to D1, so they probably have an NCAA ban for 4 years coming up.
Bothoma went pro in SA I think
Hillsdale has their hire, received an email last week that the position had been filled
Here we go! UNC to announce 8/2 at 2pm eastern. This is a guarantee from an insider. The pick will shock you. Stay tuned!
Iowa State D-Ops candidate has been finalized.
That's exactly what it was: Reid wasn't given the Director position, so he went after a job at a place where he was wanted.
Anyone know whats going on with the Lipscomb University distance position ?

Herbster is leading candidate for Illinois.
I bet not, expect a dark horse candidate.

Well that would be flying the White flag and giving up on distance. Back to the basement of the conference and titanic battles with Purdue and Ohio State. On the plus side, botching this hire could be best long term for the program and getting Turk fired and a competent Director in charge. Luckily for Turk, AD Whitman has his plate full in massive rebuilds for FB, BB, WBB and bringing varsity ice hockey to Champaign. Status quo most likely
The Volunteer at Illinois is not getting the job. Nor is Herbster.
Haveman (sp?) may stay on. New outside hire coming in.

It’s Herbster’s job if he wants it. Seems like a great call.
Notre Dame has made one of their assistant hires I hear. Interesting hire.
