D3 programs? I would argue that it's harder to coach an unlimited roster (oftentimes well over 100) of mediocre talent than it is to work with a small roster of studs. At least at a high level.

Any idea of what SUNY Cortland does with their position?

I have not read through the whole thread, and this may have already been asked/answered, but it is a mystery why colleges are not knocking down the doors of some of the better high school distance coaches/programs in the country. Great Oak, Wayzata, Fayetteville Manlius, Loudoun Valley, Christian Brothers, etc. come to mind. These coaches are doing something right because some of them have shown sustainability and produce top-level teams every year. Granted, it is a leap to the college level, but managing a top level HS program can't be that much more difficult than a Div 3 program.
I once asked a very successful HS coach who had been coaching for 40+ years why he never went the route of coaching for a college. He said that he enjoyed the challenge of developing athletes with limited experience and talent. He believed that some of your best coaches are in the HS ranks.

I heard throws earlier in the summer but then also heard HC might take on throws and hire someone for Jumps

Great Hire. Xavier sprints are going to be at the top of the Big East this year!
Xavier will be at the top of nothing in the BIG EAST, that would require them to actually put money into their track program. Good hire for someone who has never coached. Sprints will continue to be dominated by DePaul, Marquette, Villanova.
Herbster is leading candidate for Illinois.[/quote]
I bet not, expect a dark horse candidate.
Their volunteer Nolan Fife is getting it.

Does Gavin Kennedy make a return? Or Joe Lynn making the return to the power 5.
Joe Lynn's team is about to shock the XC world. He isn't going anywhere.
Sarah will be head coach. Nolan Assistant
So what's going on at Akron? The way the ad is worded it sounds like they would be hiring an assistant distance coach whom I assume would be under Labadie? It was not like this when Franek was there, correct?
Great move for Stevens Tech coach
Is Joe Lynn's team going to shock the XC world by losing to Middle Tennessee again?
Who takes over for Tribble?
There are some coaches in C-USA who would probably fit the current paradigm at 'Bama, but I have no idea who Dan Water's is actually pursuing.

Coach Cashberry takes over.

I've heard this as well. What are his responsibilities at Bama currently?
I love when coaches take credit for accomplishments they had nothing to do with and this press release is nothing but that. Adam did not coach the men at Alabama, he did not coach the team at Arkansas. His biggest accomplishment has been that the Alabama women were decent in a not so great conference and region in XC. That's about it. He'll have a lot of resources at Cal Baptist and should do well if he can convince recruits that Riverside is a nice place to run or live, good luck with that.
