Delayed to 4pm because of logistics. Hang tight.
With the Helen and Mario announcements taking up all the oxygen, the UNC announcements are delayed until tomorrow. Time TBD.

I am confused in this hiring. Didn't seem like he did much at Texas and more so Tonja Buford Bailey did most of the heavy lifting and scoring while he was head coach...yet she seems to have been the one shafted the most since he had to step down and the hiring of Coach Flo.
Hard to believe he got a job before she did. Does anyone know where she is looking?
Lots of prior UT insider comments regarding her being quite the backstabber....! Head coaches may have noticed. Pismo Beach Community College still available. Great weather.

Scholarship allotment: Very misleading as some schools have border state tuition waivers and Stanford has a lot of academic money, Arkansas has the same, BYU has a lot so they might have 10 athletic and another 4 in free scholarships

I know this is not the purpose of this thread but since it is (very) slow and there are a lot of coaches here, is it appropriate and legal (NCAA) for parents to give a gift to a coach after their kid has graduated. I would like to show my daughter's coach how much we appreciate all that he did for her. Follow-up question - what kind of gift would most coaches want?

Best thing to do is check with the schools Compliance director. Most small gifts are not an NCAA violation and depending on the circumstance and where your child has exhausted their eligibility, there is likely no issue whatsoever.

Here is something for everyone to think about with the hiring of Helen at Oregon:
This was a very good hire - (English)
Byla to velmi dobrá nájem- (Czech)
Dette var en meget god leje- (Danish)
To był bardzo dobry wynajem- (Polish)
Tämä oli erittäin hyvä vuokraus- (Finnish)
Das war eine sehr gute Einstellung
A cool gift is making a donation back to the program. My school has been doing that for years and every coach that has come through the program loves it. The graduating kids all get together and agree on an equal amount that each one will donate (I’m assuming a lot of the money comes from the parents) and it is usually enough to cover most of our spring trip.
TL;DR - donate to the program, coaches usually hate having to fundraise.
what do these coaches who are fired from one job, say on an interview for a new job, when asked about the job they got canned on?
And another keeper for UK
