Washington has had a pretty decent throws program for decades. Not as good since Shannon retired, but better than most.

No they have not been. What makes you say that they have been relevant in the past decade?
Totally disagree. I think a Coach that had KENTUCKY in contention knows what he’s doing.
Who to unc then? Vig? A women?
Ha Ha. Udubs now has three head coaches and four distance coaches. Also, for those of y'all that don't think high school coaches can recruit, when was the last time you tried selling the fun of seven a.m. runs all summer long, to a 14-18 year old? Give her a shot.
The true disappointment at Texas is they are not going to pay her an entry level salary. She is not deserving of such a salary 100,000. A lot of great female coaches were never called. Again this shows exactly who Edrick is and he needed a yes a yes in a big way. I feel for the distance kids at Texas as edrick himself stated needed someone who understands how to train in heat. Patti is not that, and backed with such little experience people have a right to question a stupid call. But Edrick needed a yes. As for Notre Dame, pay sucks andheard they are going female, maybe Patti cashes in and takes NDU. Unc will not hire VIg, Vig is like the Pat mecgregor . SIU would be a great place for Vig if he wants to leave Princeton. For a power 5 to take him is going to be desperate.
Where’s Metcalf gonna end up? I could see him at Texas or UNC, especially if he’s only in charge of the guys.
Don't put it past Edrick to hire Greg Metcalf as the mens distance coach. Got the impression that they were buds. Don't forget that Metcalf was the distance coach at Auburn under Mel Rosen before going to the UW, so he has some experience coaching in the heat.
The texas women's distance results have been sub par, if they were returning more talent they might have been able to get a big time coach. If Texas women had placed higher at NCAAs, they would have been able to attract bigger coaches. Most coaches want to walk into a really good situation, but the women's distance coach at texas is walking into a huge rebuilding undertaking.
Patti will do just fine. She will be able to recruit based on her success as an athlete, and will have ties to CA recruiting.
She's also actually had really good success as a coach developing athletes too. Plus she knows Floreal and they seem to get along, which is important as you don't want to hire someone that's going to be there for 1-2 years then bounce.

any above average coach can figure out how to coach in the heat. why are people making it seem like only a handful of coaches in the country can do it?
just recruit kenyans like UTEP and alabama. problem solved.
It's gotta be a real burden being such a hater 24/7. I used to be that know-it-all dude throwing shade at everyone. Can't say it was fun or productive. Let me know how it works out for you. Not sure what Coach Flo, Patti Sue, or UT has done to you, but I sure hope you just get over it...or not.

1st time I've ever seen Coaches News Network post and thought, man - you don't know what you're talking about... She's coaching at TEXAS now. Making $150,000+ and she's got no real collegiate coaching credentials. She'll get recruits because it's TEXAS... but has she ever recruited someone.. can she out recruit another top school in the SEC, Big 12, Big 10, Pac 12, ACC? She was a phenomenal runner in her day... absolutely... a great coach, this does not make, however. This proves desperation. Couldn't happen to a bigger bunch of entitled folks than the UT family.
Agreed. She’ll be making well over six figures, yet you’re sitting on the LR forum complaining. So who’s the true desperate coach? No need to hate on someone who got an opportunity while you weren’t even in the mix. Some of you coaches would b***h no matter who got hired. Usain Bolt himself could of got hired for a sprints job and some of you would of say he has no “NCAA coaching experience” smh. I feel sorry for your athletes, they probably hate your antics. That’s if you have any athletes
Jason Vigilanta triumphant return to coach Texas men only (again).
Princeton is a much better job and there is no reason to leave to do something that’s already been done.

No hate for Patti taking an opportunity. I think it is directed at floreal for making a decision not best for student athletes and you can figure out heat training. But it will take two years. The team made it to ncaa’, to say the women stink is just not true. A total rebuild is when they graduate 4 or 5. Seniors. They are in good shape, just not a lot of them. But that is why you do not go get Kenyans. 5 Kenyans is 5 fulls and at Texas not happening. It is probably embarrassing what that group has right now invested. That is why Patti cake best get ready to hit the road.
Vig wanting to leave Princeton? Why would he ? Sure the Texas men are loaded but he can be the head coach in a couple years at Princeton
The Princeton director is retiring after this year, perhaps the direction they are going is up in the air and why not take an opportunity like Texas if it comes to you
