Thos olivet jobs have been open for awhile. Nobody wants them? whats the deal? Also any news on riverside throws? awfully quiet.
Maybe because they are only going to hire a female jumps coach that has a masters and is a super-christian all while not needing to make almost any money? What's the deal with so many schools requiring a masters anyway? Are they simply perpetuating the collegiate system that in general is pushing everyone to spend more and more time and money on a degree that very well may be obsolete within years of graduating if it was ever useful in the first place? It's hard to imagine why anyone would need a masters to coach long, triple and/or high jump.

$30,000 a year job as exchange coach in Japan posted on USTFCCCA. Some young single coaches should jump on that; form some long term recruiting relationships for when they return to the collegiate ranks.

Well, considering the physics of these events, I'll say with no hesitation that a 'masters to coach long, triple and/or high jump' makes a whole lot more sense than a 'masters' to coach distance runners.
still no word on riverside?
Looks like Fowler University is looking for a part time distance coach. These tiny schools always seem to have a heavy turnover rate.
ipfw looking for fulltime sprint/hurdle
Was it filled? If so, who got it?
Where did Dan Steele go? Is he still employed at Iowa State?

Spot on. Not many great candidates are going to be able to just leave their current situation right now. If they aren’t hiring from within then they are likely hiring someone who isn’t employed right now.
Steele is no longer listed on the staff

I was wondering the same thing. Cal Poly Pomona posted the job this morning - but still nothing from UC Riverside.
Yeah she is the new coach
makes sense. she is from the same ucla background as pagel. So it will be an easy adjustment for the kids, she is right down the road so can be there now. Plus I had heard rumblings of there being a title ix investigation over there so the coach being a her will help ease if true. In all a very good hire.
