Left calf has been tight for about 10 months now, despite all the foam rolling, fascia work, R8ing, tennis balling, and stretching I can stand. It started over the course of a couple weeks, just ratcheting up up up, and has never released. The hamstring and plantar fascia on that leg are also tight -- I manage to keep those under control, but the calf just won't let go. As a result I'm on month 8 of achilles tendinosis and month 6 of no running at all. Right leg has none of these problems.
Obviously this is a long-term problem on my left leg, but the calf is the thing really holding me back. PTs have been worthless because my pain level is low and I can walk fine (up to a mile, before it starts cramping/knotting up)... it's difficult to work with them when they don't seem to think there's a problem.
I know there are a million ways to release calves, but let me know what works for YOU.
