Saucony has stopped making apparel. That may seem like no big deal but it is the first domino.
Small time sponsorships will be the next thing to go.

it was a point of discussion at The Running Event. You can ask any retailer or employee of Saucony.
They will outsource the uniforms for the pro's.

Bah. If that's true, I'm going to really miss their iconic Boston running pant. First starting buying them when they were sold as the Hind Munich pant.

Just called a Sales Rep friend at it is true.
Apparel is a money loser at retail and Saucony wants to have a bigger focus on small stores. They have also pulled out of Amazon.

Small stores = good
no apparel = bad
Is it all apparel? Will they make running shorts- the basics?
It is all apparel. I'm hoping it is temporary and that we will back into it in a couple years. We will still have socks and accessories but that and shoes is it. Sorry
Hard market to compete in. Honestly, as much as I like some of their pieces, it's not much different fabric/technology wise (if at all) from what Nike and Under Armor are selling...and in the women's realm, good luck competing with Nike and Lululemon.
wow, that's too bad: Saucony makes some good stuff- shorts, shirts, jackets, tights- and I wouldn't wipe my azz with Nike or UA. Wife liked their bras too and wouldn't puke on Lulu.
That said, when you see some of the dog$hit"specialty" running stores that are shills for Nike crap, you can see where it be tought for Sauc-- how many people really order direct, or should have to?
Gee. That sucks. I literally grew up wearing Saucony. They were my first running shoe and I never switched cause they felt perfect. All my high school and college prs and championship wins were wearing spitfires. They are a very special shoe to me. The shoes were always a perfect fit.
GH Sports, named after the late Greg Hind and now run by his family is producing an update on their original Munich pant.
Guys I don't see anything official from Saucony or their parent company.

Another casualty thanks to Amazon.
Saucony sees the writing on the wall. Amazon is destroying retail and the little guy in business. That means companies the size of Saucony will not survive if they can't change the shopping habits of current consumers.
Nike likes this because this will destroy many of their competitors. Last one standing. This is why they are pulling out of retail.
Wake up folks. Amazon will destroy small business and small businesses.
