I'm a retired guy in my 70's, thinking of moving to Mexico and am watching this thread. If it's okay to ask, let me know your opinions about retiring in either Guadalaja or someplace around Lake Chapala. From what I've seen from afar, small towns around LC are more quiet, but might not have suitable roads, sidewalks or trails for walking or running. Let me know your input if possible. Thanks
I've been to Chapala one afternoon with my family so I didn't have the time to run, beautiful, quiet and safe place, the whole laguna is surrounding by a Sierra so there is probably some nice trails over there. I went to Guadalajara for one week, in Zapopan (25minutes from Guadalajara by car) there is a BIG public running park with pretty nice sport facilities, us football field, basket ball field, the running trail is 5 miles loop. To be honest I didn't like Guadalajara that much pretty big city, the city center is fine but it's really small, and the city looked chaotic to my european eyes. You should check Mazamitla locals call the town "La Suiza Mexicana" it's located at the south of the Laguna de Chapala and I know there is plenty of trails to run on there.
@Cuirouslyseriously Nice! Keep us up to date, I wish you the best.
